Hello everyone! We had another busy week. Here's the run down..
- I got called Sister Goodfridge this week. That was a new one haha
- We had supper with the sweetest member, Sister Hummelle, she kept saying how we were angels.
- We then met with the family of four we found last week and turns out they are hard core Muslim. They gave us cake and juice again though! The lady was very sweet and she told us how impressed she was by the way we dressed. She said "you're practically Muslim you just need the hijab" I am not sure if I spelled that right but that wad pretty funny. I think that is the first time I have been called almost Muslim. Haha so we got called lots of things this week.
- we also had Halloween which was fun. We spent it at a members house with some other missionaries!
- we had MLC this week and that was good too!! We learned a lot about revelation, increasing our belief, and how we can create more consistency.
- we had the Sisters in NEEPAWA, Sister Peacock and Sister Martin come in for exchanges this week. Sister Peacock was one of my MTC companions so it was fun to go on an exchange with her. She is training sister Martin who just came into the mission a few weeks ago. She is from Scotland, has been a member for 2 years and is 29 years old! It was super cool to get to know her more and hear her story. By the end of the 2 days they spent with us i wanted to talk in an accent. And I wasn't even with her the whole time! She is super cool though!
-while on exchanges we saw lots of miracles. We decided to do some street contacting by the church and we were able to set up a lot of church tours so that was cool! We also raked this lady's leaves in the snow. She called us and wanted us to do it so we agreed even though we were freezing haha.
- we also had a zone meeting and Sister Utsch and I did a training on having more effective personal and companion studies. We also got trained on goal setting and planning and reviewed some of the things we learned from our last zone conference a few weeks ago!
- on Saturday we had a ward activity that some members from Brazil put on. It was small but they invited some of their non member friends and we played games and ate food. We also had some of our friends we are teaching come and they loved it!! We had to leave a bit earlier than everyone else because we had a lesson but they stayed all the way until they end so that was really cool!
- yesterday we had a broadcast from salt lake and we had sister Bingham, elder Anderson the area president, elder carpenter and elder Holland speak to us. They talked about 4 topics: ministering, temple and family history work, Sabbath day and missionary work. They have recently developed an area plan for this area that is focused on these four points. All of the talks were really good and something that I think the church as a whole has really been focusing on.
I also wanted to share a scripture I came across this past week:
Romans 8:29 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
I know this is true and that everything works out for our good!!
Love you all and hope you have a great week!!!
Love, Sister Godderidge
