Remember

November 12, 2018

I can't believe it is already Monday again! Where does the time go? We had a good week except for the fact that the temperature dropped A LOT!!! It is officially winter and there is snow on the ground. I think it is here to stay:( This morning we woke up and it felt like minus 26 outside. I have been in denial and havent gotten my winter coat out yet but I think it is probably time.
We met another muslim family this week. They let us in when it was super cold one night and they hardly spoke any english. We tried to teach them about prayer. They fed us apples. We prayed to leave their home and I offered to say it. As soon as I was done I looked up and saw one of the girls videoing the prayer haha.. I guess they had never seen anything like it before.
One of the chinese families we are teaching invited us over for some authentic chinese food this week! It was super awesome and we got to eat with chopsticks!! I know I say this every week but I just love the chinese culture! They gave us these shoes to wear while we were there and they were super comfortable! It was fun. We also taught them about the first vision and watched it with them and the spirit was super strong! I love Joseph Smith
We were also about to take one of our friends to the temple trailer so that he could learn more about the temple. It was perfect because he had lots of questions and he was able to learn more about the temple!
We got a call from a member this week telling us that she has a friend who she has been sharing bits and pieces of the gospel with for some time. Her friend told her on Saturday that she was going to talk to her husband about joining our church!! So that was definitely a miracle. We hope things continue to go well with her:) Member missionary work is awesome!!
We had an event at our church yesterday called "Sing for Peace". A bunch of churches in Winnipeg came together to share music. It was awesome and there were a lot of people from different faiths so it was cool that they got to come and be in our church building. We even invited some of the people we do service with at a soup kitchen each week and they came too!! It was great!
We also had a special sacrament meeting in honor of Remembrance Day. It made me think a lot about the people who fought and are fighting for our freedoms and how grateful I am for all of them. But most importantly it made me think about the ultimate "veteran", Jesus Christ, who fought for us and salvation. I am so grateful for Him and His atonement and for the opportunity it is to be a member of His church. I am grateful for the sacrament where we get to renew and remember Him and our baptismal covenants. I hope that you all strive to remember Christ every single day this week and do something more to follow Him! Love you all!

Love, Sister Godderidge
