Hello family and friends! I hope you all had a wonderful week! It was another very hot and humid week here in Winnipeg. Things are going well though and it's been a bit cooler the past few days! the temperature has only been about 25 Celsius rather than 35!! I have no idea what that is in Fahrenheit. Maybe it isnt even that hot?
Anyway, sister madsen and i had a pretty slow week. We did a lot of finding!
We found a couple guys on the street. One of them later texted us and asked us if we could marry him, the other one just tells us how beautiful we are haha. I think both may have been a bit under the influence.
We've been going to an ASL class on Mondays that is taught by a couple deaf people in our ward. That has been fun to learn some sign language!
So although we had a pretty slow week we had an amazing night last night! I will tell you all about it. We definitely learned that God can place us exactly where we need to be at the right place and in the right time if we rely on the spirit.
It started at about 4:00. We had just finished having lunch with one of the members after church and we had some time before an appointment so we decided to go try one of the less active members in our ward. Her name is Dinora. We went to her house and knocked but no one was home so we left. As we were leaving we had driven to an intersection near her house and I looked over and saw her walking across the road. So we turned around and she let us go in and teach her! She basically taught us the restoration and told us how much she knows joseph smith is a prophet. That was neat!
After that we went to our appointment with a potential investigator named mary. When we got there she had her 2 grandkids join us too. So we got to teach them all!!
We planned to have some supper after that but by the time we got out of the appointment and the fact that we werent super close to our apartment we decided to just skip it and continue with our plans for the evening.
Next we were going to stop by a lady we found last week. We found her while trying to find another potential investigator. The guy we were originally trying to find did not give us his apartment number so we were tracting the building to find him when we found her! Anyways, we had gone back a couple times throughout the week to try and find him but never had much luck. Yesterday when we pulled up there he was sitting outside!! We finally found him and it was perfect timing! We talked to him more about the book of mormon and he told us he didnt want to meet with us anymore but he asked if he could have a copy to give to his friend! That was a miracle. We then went and saw the lady we originally planned to see, met her pastor and helped carry a bookcase up to her apartment.

After that we decided to go try a referral we had gotten from some other missionaries in the mission. We got out of our car and started walking towards the house when we hear someone yell, "SISTERS". We were a little shocked at first becuase we didnt know who could be calling our name. We turned and saw a girl running towards us but had no idea who she was. Turns out she is a less-active member and she has family in our ward. She told us her whole story and how she was just praying and asking god why no one in her ward or family cares about her and then she saw us getting out of our car. She told us that she has been struggling a lot recently and wants to come back to church and she thinks seeing us was a sign from God. She also had a surprise visit from some return missionary sisters this past week so I think she is on her way to returning!!
The lady we planned to see wasnt home so we started back to our car and saw a guy walking towards us, we stopped and talked to him and told him about the book of mormon and he told us he really wanted to come to chruch and that he would come next week! Another miracle.
At this point we were pretty amazed but all of these things that had happened in just a couple hours. We only had about a half hour left so we prayed over our map and decided on a street to tract. After a few houses we knocked on a door and a girl answered. We talked to her a little bit and then I realized that we had met her just a couple weeks ago on the street. She originally didnt want to talk to us but then agreed to let us come back!
We got back to our apartment and I had received a message from a girl sister jackson and I had taught in regina. She was asking if we were still there. That was another miracle that she wanted to meet with the sisters again!
So theres 8 examples of how the lord can work miracles if we follow the spirit and go where He needs us:)
I was also reading in the new preach my gospel this week and noticed a paragraph that was added to the first lesson we teach as missionaries..
"Because God is our Father and we are His children, He will help us recognize truth. When we pray with faith, sincerity, and real intent- a commitment to act on the answers we receive-- God will answer our questions, guide our lives and help us make good decisions."
